Mission and Vision of Oxbow Ministries

Mission

The mission of Oxbow Ministries is to join people God calls, in worship and word to the yoke of Christ Jesus to bring in the Great Harvest according to the Holy Scriptures and the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father.

Vision

The vision of Oxbow Ministries came to us through a dream several years ago.

• An oxbow is a u-shaped metal rod that connects oxen to the yoke.
• Young, strong oxen are yoked together with older experienced ones to maximize their effectiveness in the field.
• An oxbow is a u-shaped meander in a river. Our church, Wellspring Fellowship is surrounded by an oxbow of the Smith River in southwestern Virginia.

Yoked together in Christ. Surrounded by the River of Life.

• We see training the Body of Christ surrounded by the presence of God with the Father’s heart.
• We see prophetic fullness in worship through the arts to display the Lord in all His beauty.
• We see leaders taught, trained, and equipped through these dynamic relationships.
• We see a multiplication of leaders and ministries.
• We see the Kingdom of God established on earth as it is in Heaven.

Values

• We value the manifest presence of God in everything we do.
• We value the love the Father has for His children in everything we do.
• We value ministering to the Lord first in everything we do.
• We value honoring God and others in simplicity and humility in everything we do.
